Psychiatry and the Law

Providing expertise in a variety of legal issues and clinical subspecialties, the Division of Psychiatry and the Law gives you access to highly trained academic faculty. Our experience comprises performing objective psychiatric and psychological examinations, consultations with attorneys, record reviews, provision of testimony, and psychological and neuropsychological testing for both civil and criminal cases.

The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Northwestern University has a reputation for providing high-quality mental health care. Since 1994, the department’s Division of Psychiatry and the Law has answered a variety of both civil and criminal legal questions.
